774 Spring in a Bowl

This is a repeat painting.  The original was painted with acrylic and I wanted to try painting it with oil, much harder for me.  It took several days and I'm still not happy with it.  I seem to have more difficulty with flowers, landscape being a little easier.   One aspect of oil painting that was really fun was being able to sign my name with the handle of the brush, scraping it into the paint.  No matter, I am eager for Spring.

523 Cuties, Again

It is probably obvious by now that Blue/Orange is my favorite complementary color palette.  Funny thing is I never liked the color orange, until I received an orange pumpkin soap dispenser at a luncheon and it discovered how fabulous it looks in my pale turquoise kitchen.  It is now my permanent accent color.

As this miserable cold reaches the 1 week mark, the Cuties  (vitamin C) are dwindling away.  All of Milwaukee is sick!

446 Smitten

During one of our trips to Florida, we went to a Greek festival.  I love ethnic festivals, which are also very big in Milwaukee during the summer months.  At this particular festival, the food was delicious and I especially enjoyed watching the children dance a traditional Greek dance.  I loved watching the expressions on the children's faces, especially these three.  http://www.dailypaintworks.com/fineart/diane-campion/446-smitten/253756
